The initial investment cost of peristaltic pumps may be slightly higher than that of other positive displacement pumps,but the associated auxiliary equipment,installation,maintenance and spare parts costs of other pumps may be very large,and peristaltic pumps are superior in terms of life cycle costs.In a peristaltic pump,the wet parts of the pipe or hose require little maintenance,no expensive seals to replace,no check valves to clog,and no rotor or stator to wear.


Of course hoses or pipes need to be replaced regularly.Even so,industrial-grade peristaltic pumps can operate reliably for thousands of hours before hose fatigue fails.The hoses can be replaced in less than an hour,and in some cases in minutes.In addition,hoses can be quickly and safely replaced without any special tools.


That's much less than the 4-6 hours of repair time required for diaphragm pumps or single-screw pumps,and that doesn't include the extra time they take up when moving,transferring,and reinstalling.The cost of hose repair is very low compared to diaphragm or single-screw pumps,where wet-end replacement components such as ball valves,rotors and stators can account for up to 75%of the initial purchase cost of the pump.




Peristaltic pumps do not require installation of auxiliary equipment.Diaphragm pump needs back pressure valve and exhaust valve to ensure the correct operation of the internal check valve.Single screw pumps typically require dual mechanical seals,flushing systems,dry operation protection and built-in check valves.With peristaltic pumps,the cost of these auxiliary components can be eliminated.The need for process control and chemical compatibility generally make peristaltic pumps less expensive than other positive displacement pumps.


For example,when a single screw pump can only use expensive metal to meet corrosion resistance requirements,its price can increase exponentially.Many positive displacement pumps require the purchase of separate control panels or frequency converters to achieve variable flow metering.If you need to increase the flow range,the cost and complexity will increase.However,peristaltic pumps have their own high flow range,closed-loop speed control capabilities and scalable I/O interfaces that can be connected to DCS,SCADA and PROFIBUS systems.


Peristaltic pumps with self-priming capabilities improve operator safety by reducing hazardous chemical handling processes.This pump also has a certain dry operation function,very suitable for tank emptying or other unmanned operation occasions.Peristaltic pump can also reverse operation,just change the direction of rotation can be used to drain pipe or eliminate pipe blockage.
